We had a lovely pumpkin soup for lunch made from half a butternut squash, skin left on. I didn't realise the skin was edible, it went soft and blended easily. I also added the leftover mashed sweet potato from yesterday. Veg trimmimgs joined the others in a bag in the freezer, apart from the onion trimmings which went into the foil tray to go into the oven next time we use it.

We had chicken and salad for tea, the veg trimmings again went into the freezer. The onion trimmings went into the oven with the chicken, along with a pear and blackcurrant crumble made with blackcurrants from the stockpile in the freezer, and some barley flour from a bag in the pantry.
The chicken bones went into the pressure cooker to make stock.
I put more of the frozen blackcurrants in a big jar with some sugar and vodka, to make blackcurrant vodka for christmas. it can sit on a shelf doing its thing until then.
i put three of the trifle sponges i had leftover in the pantry in a bowl and added the rest of the mango pulp mixed with the melted leaf gelatin on top. It will become a sort of mango trifle/dessert, I hope!
Unfortunately the trifle dish slipped in the fridge, so my mango dessert doesnt look quite right!

Definitely a zero food waste day today.
I'm building up quite a few dried onion/garlic skins now!
