Day 26 - Steak and Onion Pudding, and Onion Skin Seasoning!

On day 26 of the #ZeroWasteChallenge, I made a steamed steak and onion pudding in the slow cooker. This allowed me to use up the last of a packet of suet that had been lingering in the fridge since last Christmas (looked ok, smelled ok).



I've never made a steamed pudding before. Waiting for it to cook was very exciting, it was so good I didn't have time to photograph the cut open version before it got scoffed! Needless to say, it was very delicious, and the suet pastry was surprisingly light and fluffy.

I also finally got around to grinding up my roasted garlic and onion skins that I've been accumulating since the beginning of November with some salt, to make a garlic and onion seasoning:
