Banana Skin "Fake Bacon"

Yes, yes, I know November's #zerowastechallenge itself is over, but that doesn't mean we can't still find creative ways to use things that we might otherwise have thrown away.
From the start, I was intrigued by the idea of making "bacon" from banana peel. it sounded a bit hard to believe.
I was going to start this post with "I made this, so you dont have to", but the result was actually surprisingly palatable.

It didn't taste much like bacon, but it didnt taste like banana skin either, nor like banana. Chewy, savoury and actually quite pleasant.
Basically, you scrape your banana peels, and then marinade in soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic pwder and smoked paprika. I marinaded mine overnight. Then you fry them, and eat!

I dont know that i would do this on a regular basis, and to be honest, I'm not a big fan of making fruit and vegetables look or taste like meat, but it's handy to have a few recipes up your sleeve for those occasions when you are feedig someone who is vegan or vegetarian. This one will almost certainly raise eyebrows.
